TIE Keith Moon and Larry Mullen -- their styles are both so different, each is worthy of the title of best drummer. 2. Zak Starkey 3. Ringo Starr 4. Dominic Howard of Muse 5. TIE Steve and Alan White Honorable mention: Charlie Watts -- even at 67 he still gets an astounding sound out of his kit live. Drums are very much a family instrument, as evidenced by the Starkeys and the Whites!
