No more happy hours... for now.
But guess what?
No captcha to enter!
Unfortunately the download speed right now sucks. Only 62 KB a second, compared to the 150 I can get with Megaupload, or the 250 I can get with Mediafire.

Or the 400 that can be achieved with SendSpace. Maybe RS should stay like this permanently.

I have a premium account with rapidshare and have been for over a year, but this month has been the worst service I have ever had with them. The speed is absolutely dreadful. Why should I pay for a premium that gives me worse speeds than other 'free' services? It's not my connection either, I have 10mb broadband and I get great speeds everywhere else.

Agreed - just pinch RS where it hurts and get rid of your account, and just try find ways around it that don't cost you money

As is what we have been doing. That said, it doesn't work perfectly, but it's free and you don't have to pay for those bastards at Rapidshite.
*I knew we should have kept using Megaupload!* - that's why most of my uploads go there.

Well Megaupload sucks even more, they have download slots per country. For Holland there are never any free slots, that means people just can't download it here. Rapidshare is here just as fast as usual though.
What's with Mediafire? Is it stable? Always looking for a good alternative to Rapidshare.

Hey Remy, MediaFire I haven't had any real problems with yet, and seems pretty stable.
citation:
Unlike most file hosting sites, MediaFire supports an unlimited number of simultaneous downloads.
MediaFire also supports most download managers/accelerators.

Yes, unlike most file hosting sites, MediaFire supports resuming of disconnected downloads as long as your web browser or download manager/accelerator supports resuming. You can resume a download for up to 24 hours from when you first clicked the download link.
|

No, you do not need to create a free account to upload or download files from MediaFire, but we highly recommend that you create one so you'll always be able to manage and share the files and images you upload at any time from any computer just by logging in to your account.
|
citation:
MediaFire currently has a file size limit of 100MB because bandwidth for serving downloads is the most expensive part of running a file hosting service. For example, 200MB files are 2x more expensive to serve to downloaders as 100MB files, 1GB files are 10x more expensive to serve than 100MB files, etc.
By limiting the maximum file size to 100MB, MediaFire can offer features that no other single file hosting service offers for free:
* Unlimited disk space
* Unlimited bandwidth to serve any files under 100MB
* Unlimited downloads of any files under 100MB
* Unlimited uploads
* No waits, lines, or queues to download files
* No daily download limits
* No download speed limits
* Support for most popular download managers/accelerators
* Multiple simultaneous downloads

How's that sound to you?
