i know exactly what you mean. i'm telling all of my friends that U2 is about to release their best album and that it will be a complete break from what they've done and that it will basically save music as we know it this album, i have a feeling, will be beyond words

I'm totally with you on that. What the world needs is a new U2 album!

Same here, maybe expectations are rising too much..but what the heck.

yeah we do need to be a little realistic and know that we can't predict anything, but just judging from the seemingly smooth and organic recording process, the words of Eno and Lanois, particularly Lanois talking about "breaking sonic ground", is very exciting. Bono also hasn't been seen as much, like he was during the Bomb sessions, so the whole band really seem to be very dedicated to this album, and the fact that Bono has kept his pre-album hyperbole to a minimum is kind of exciting too, he's like; i'm not even gonna hype it, it will speak for itself.

my mind takes off sometimes haha

Makes the waiting time until November even longer than it already is... I'm in one of my 'U2-Adoration-Moments', everything I hear of them gives me goosebumps. Man, I just can't wait...

I'm on the exact same page as you, except i've been saying this since 2003.

I remember my exact words

"The album after the next one, will best thing they ever do".

I swear i said it then, and it sticks now.

The album remasters and the UBRS DVD should be able to satisfy everyone's addiction until the new album comes out.....

yeah i get you. i was also saying it though before Atomic Bomb and about Atomic Bomb, and I think to an extent I was right, it is a record that is very full on and just so tight and has many qualifiers to make it the "best", but Atomic Bomb wasn't transcendent but I don't think that was the whole idea. I have a feeling transcendence will be the order of the day with this new album and tour. god, can't wait to hear this tour's version of Streets *dies*

I get the feeling they've spent a lot more time on it than Bomb which isn't necessarily a good thing but it's encouraging. I also get the feeling that it'll be a lot more innovative than the previous two. Rehearsing/recording in several spots....starting in Morocco of all places makes me think that they're really exploring and pushing the boundaries. I probably rate Bomb as the best thing they've done since Zooropa but it was conventional and a little pedestrian. This one won't be. It should be a cracker.

Something that I've thought of lately is will Apple put out another special U2 iPod to commemorate the occasion??

Ha ha. I hope not either. I don't want to feel obligated. Besides my Vertigo one still works fine!

Hopefully not if they bring out a U2 iPod classic. God help us all.

I'm definitely getting the remasters one at a time, maybe one a week. $100 plus other various records coming out is gonna be killer.

Cool...think I might do that...that $55 price tag's a killer though. Oh well, the price we pay for our addiction. My local JB's gave me a date of 18 July but they were not very specific about it. They said it' still to be confirmed.
