Hottopic is some cool software for Windows, it gives you the ability to add your favorite topics to a list, and when someone replies to one of your
favorite topics; it will display a cool MSN-like notification informing you that someone replied to a favorite topic. You can also directly add topics
through Internet Explorer.

 1. Download the software |
Download Hottopic 2 here (975 kb) and install it on your PC.
HotTopic works with HFD files, these files contain the information of the forums. The Dutch forums FokForum and Gathering Of Tweakers (GoT) are included, you can remove these two easily through the HotTopic > Settings menu.

| 2. Add U2start to HotTopic |
Download the U2start HFD file here (490 bytes, do 'save target as') and add it to the HotTopic folder.
In HotTopic, open the HotTopic > Settings menu and navigate to "Forums", click on the "Add" button below and browse to the u2start.hfd file. U2start is now added to your HotTopic, you can start synchronizing now!

3. Configure U2start |
With the U2start menu (HotTopic > Settings > Forums > U2start) you can customize the U2start feed more to your wishes:

| 4. Adding favorite topics to HotTopic |
You can add your favorite topics with the right mouse button in the active topics button:

or with internet explorer with your right mouse button, unfortunately other browsers are not supported
After adding favorite topics to HotTopic you are able to get notifications of new replies.

Make sure you start HotTopic with each reboot of your PC to make sure you are up to date with the forums. Make sure you read the information below too to prevent
posting unnecessary posts on the forums.

You can visit the HotTopic website at hottopic.nl, it's available in English and there's a FAQ available. If you have problems related to the U2start file, share it in our forums and we'll try to help you.

| How often is the U2start activetopics file updated? |
|
The lastposts.xml file is realtime, please do not synchronize your HotTopic software less than once a minute.

| Are all forums and topics supported? |
|
Yes, mostly, ponly topics with some weird characters (like ê) can give some weird characters in the topic title in HotTopic. The crew forum also isn't supported for obvious reasons.

| When I add a topic through Internet Explorer, the topic title is not valid, what does this mean? |
This is completely normal. HotTopic can't retrieve all information when a topic is inactive, but when someone replies on that topic, HotTopic will automatically replace the the topic title with the proper title. You can also edit the topic title if HotTopic doesn't know the title.
